Just Enough Breeding (JEBr) in All the Mods 10

Just Enough Breeding, or JEBr, is a plugin for your recipe viewer. It works with JEI, REI and EMI, and it adds extra categories that show breeding info for mobs. If you've ever alt-tabbed to a wiki to check what a mob eats before you can breed it, this mod is for you.^[1]

What you'll see in the viewer

• The items a mob needs in order to breed.^[1]
• The mob's spawn egg, so you can look it up quickly.^[1]
• The number of eggs produced, if the mob lays eggs after breeding.^[1]
• A "(tamed)" tag after the mob's name if it has to be tamed before it can breed.^[1]

Who it's for and where it fits

It's a quality-of-life mod for anyone setting up animal farms, whether you're a beginner or already deep into the pack. It only adds information to your recipe viewer. It doesn't add new blocks or items of its own.^[1]

This pack ships version 3.2.1 of the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1.^[2]

Unverified The sources don't show this mod on the ATM Star path, and no quests in this pack involve it. It doesn't appear to gate any progression. Treat it as a lookup tool you can use whenever you like.

Good news: there's nothing to craft to get going with Just Enough Breeding. It's a plugin for the JEI, REI and EMI recipe viewers that adds extra breeding categories to the viewer you already use.^[1]

What you get

Once it's loaded, open your recipe viewer and look for the breeding categories. For the mobs it covers, they show you the following:^[1]

• The items a mob needs to breed.^[1]
• The mob's spawn egg, so it's easy to look up.^[1]
• The number of eggs produced, if the mob lays eggs after breeding.^[1]
• A "(tamed)" tag after the mob's name if it has to be tamed before it can breed.^[1]

Your first steps

1. Open your recipe viewer (JEI, REI or EMI) and browse its categories for the breeding entries.^[1]
2. Look up the mob you want to farm and check which items it needs to breed.^[1]
3. If its name shows "(tamed)", tame it before you try to breed it.^[1]
4. For egg-laying mobs, check the egg count shown so you know what to expect from a breeding round.^[1]

Unverified Nothing in the available sources shows crafting recipes, items, quests or config options for this mod in this pack, so there are no recipe blocks here. Which recipe viewer the pack ships with, and the exact keys to open it, are also unconfirmed. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Just Enough Breeding is a recipe-viewer plugin, not a content mod. It works with JEI, REI and EMI, and it adds extra categories to the viewer that show breeding information for various mobs. That means there are no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems to set up, and nothing to automate.^[1]

What the new categories show

• The items a mob needs in order to breed.^[1]
• The mob's spawn egg, so you can look it up easily.^[1]
• The number of eggs produced, if the mob lays eggs after breeding.^[1]
• A "(tamed)" tag added to the mob's name if it has to be tamed before it can breed.^[1]

Unverified The sources don't say how to open these categories in the pack, so that is unverified. They also don't say whether the pack uses JEI, REI or EMI, and they don't list any configuration options for this mod. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Just Enough Breeding has been in the pack for a long time. It was already included in All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, and All the Mods 10 8.1 ships version 3.2.1 of the mod.^[2]

Here is every update the pack changelogs record for this mod, from oldest to newest:^[3][4][5][6]

• All the Mods 10 2.47: updated from 1.5.0 to 1.6.0.^[3]
• All the Mods 10 4.5: updated from 1.6.0 to 1.6.2.^[4]
• All the Mods 10 7.1: updated from 1.6.2 to 3.1.0.^[5]
• All the Mods 10 7.3: updated from 3.1.0 to 3.2.1.^[6]

Version 3.2.1 has stayed in the pack since 7.3, and the 8.1 mod list shows the same version.^[2][6]

Unverified The pack changelogs only list version numbers, and there are no stored changelogs for the shipped jars. What actually changed inside the mod between these versions, such as new features, fixes or behavior changes, could not be confirmed.
