Just Zoom in All the Mods 10

Just Zoom is a small quality-of-life mod that lets you zoom in with a hotkey and adjust the zoom level with your mouse wheel. It feels like zooming with the spyglass, but you can zoom in further and you don't get the black bars and spyglass overlay blocking your view. That makes it great for scouting builds, spotting structures or mobs in the distance, and checking out details in your base.^[1]

The pack includes Just Zoom 2.1.0 for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1, and it has been part of the pack since version 2.25 of All the Mods 10 or earlier.^[2]

What it does

• Zoom with a hotkey. By default it is Z or Y depending on your keyboard, and you can change it in Minecraft's Controls settings.^[1]
• Scroll the mouse wheel while zooming to change the zoom factor.^[1]
• Zooming in and out is smooth by default, just like the spyglass, and you can turn that off in the mod's options.^[1]
• Your mouse sensitivity is normalized while zooming, so the mouse doesn't feel like it's moving too fast.^[1]
• It can zoom in further than the spyglass.^[1]

Who it is for

Anyone who likes to look around before heading out will get something from it. There is nothing to craft, and no setup is needed beyond the hotkey if you want to rebind it.^[1]

Configuration

Just Zoom has in-game options. Open the Pause Screen and press the little spyglass button in the bottom-left corner to change them.^[1]

Where it fits in the progression

Just Zoom is a utility mod, so it isn't part of the pack's progression. It is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no quests in this pack involve it. You can use it from the start.^[1]

Good news: there's nothing to craft to get started with Just Zoom. It's a client-side quality-of-life mod, and the first step is simply pressing a key.^[1]

First, zoom with the hotkey

Hold the zoom hotkey, which is Z or Y by default depending on your keyboard layout. It feels a lot like looking through a spyglass, but you can zoom in further, and you don't get the black bars or the spyglass overlay blocking your view.^[1]

Then adjust the zoom with your mouse wheel

While you're zooming, scroll your mouse wheel to change the zoom factor. By default the zoom eases in and out smoothly, just like the spyglass does. Your mouse sensitivity is also normalized while zoomed, so the camera doesn't feel like it's flying around.^[1]

Finally, tweak it to your taste

• To change the hotkey, open Minecraft's Controls settings and rebind the zoom key there.^[1]
• To change the mod's options, open the Pause Screen and click the little spyglass button in the bottom-left. This is also where you can disable the smooth zooming if you prefer.^[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't show any items, crafting recipes or quests for this mod in the pack, so there are no recipe blocks here. I also can't confirm whether the pack changes any of the mod's default options or keybinds.

Just Zoom is a quality-of-life zoom mod, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation to learn here. Everything it does is about how your view zooms, and it's quick to pick up.^[1]

How zooming works

• Press the zoom hotkey to zoom in. By default it's Z or Y, depending on your keyboard layout.^[1]
• While zoomed, scroll your mouse wheel to adjust the zoom factor.^[1]
• It feels like zooming with the spyglass, but it can zoom in further and has no black bars or spyglass overlay blocking your view.^[1]
• Zooming in and out is smooth by default, like the spyglass. You can turn the smoothing off in the mod's options.^[1]
• Your mouse sensitivity is normalized while you zoom, so the mouse doesn't feel like it's moving too fast.^[1]

Changing the settings

To rebind the zoom hotkey, open Minecraft's Controls settings. For the mod's other options, open the Pause Screen and press the little spyglass button in the bottom-left corner.^[1]

Unverified The sources don't show whether this pack changes any of Just Zoom's default options or keybinds, so treat the defaults above as the mod's own defaults and check the in-game options screen for the real values.

Just Zoom has a short history in this pack. It was already in All the Mods 10 by version 2.25, and the exact release that first added it isn't recorded in the sources.^[2]

Pack releases

• All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier: Just Zoom was already included at this point.^[2]
• All the Mods 10 2.40: Just Zoom was updated from 2.0.0 to 2.1.0.^[3]

All the Mods 10 8.1 includes Just Zoom 2.1.0, shipped as the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1.^[2]

Unverified What changed between Just Zoom 2.0.0 and 2.1.0 is unverified. The mod's own changelogs for the shipped jars are not stored, so the sources here do not show any new features, fixes or config changes.
