Deeper and Darker
44 quests, with the items each asks for and where they come from in All the Mons.
- Visit an Ancient City
The Ancient City is only the most dangerous Structure in Vanilla Minecraft. So of course that is just the start to Deeper and Darker! Here we can find Sculk galore, along with Loot and the Warden. We'll also find the Portal Frame made of Reinforced Deepslate. But until then, Loot all you can! And be careful of the...
- Kill the Warden
The Warden. The most difficult boss in Minecraft, of course being within the most difficult Structure. He's spawned from a Sculk Shrieker being activated 3 times, or any amount after the first Warden. He has 500 Hearts and does a ton of Damage from either hitting you with his fists or his Sonic Blast! He does have a weakness though, that being that he is Blind. He can only find you with Sound, or Smell if you are close enough! Keep your distance, like 23 Blocks up.
Needs: Visit an Ancient City - Heart of the Deep
The Warden will drop quite a few Items but the Heart of the Deep is most important. We can use the Heart of the Deep on a frame of Reinforced Deepslate to get our Portal to the Otherside. There can't be any Blocks blocking the Portal Frame or else it won't work. He also drops Warden Carapace and Echo Shards, both will be useful for Crafting other Items!
Needs: Kill the WardenAsks for:Heart of the Deep
- The Otherside (Hello from...)
The Otherside is the birthplace of Sculk and Sculk creatures, including the Warden. Here you'll find many of his distant cousins, but don't worry there's also a few plus-sides to the Otherside! There's plenty of new Building Blocks and Items we can find and Sculk everywhere for tons of XP! So get your Hoe ready and adventure into the Otherside!
Needs: Heart of the Deep - Deeplands
The Deeplands are most similar to the Deep Dark. They are full of Sculk along with Shriekers and Sensors, which yes can still spawn the Warden. Here you'll also find more Sculk Creatures and Plants, and even the one Structure the Otherside has!
Needs: The Otherside - Sculk Tendrils
Sculk Tendrils are like Twisting Vines... just Sculky. They spawn rarely in Deeplands.
Needs: DeeplandsAsks for:Sculk Tendrils
- Warden Upgrade Template
To upgrade from Netherite to Warden Gear, you'll need a Smithing Template! These are found in Chests in Ancient Cities. They can then be duplicated with 7 Diamonds and a Sculk Block!
Needs: The Otherside, Visit an Ancient CityAsks for:Smithing Template
- Ancient Temples (The only structure)
The Ancient Temple is the important and necessary Structure found within the Deeplands. It looks like a Mayan Pyramid made of Deepslate and Sculk. There's tons of Sculk Sensors and Shriekers as well as Chests and Ancient Vases. Within the higher floors you'll find mostly just Chests and Ancient Vases but within the Pyramid we'll find even Blocks of Gold and other Materials.
Needs: Deeplands - Sculk Grime
Sculk Grime is Deeper and Darker's version of Clay! You can find it within a few Biomes and when you mine it you'll get Grime Balls. These can then be made back into Sculk Grime or made into Grime Bricks.
Needs: DeeplandsAsks for:Grime Ball
- Overcast Columns
The Overcast Columns are much more Hot and Orange than any other Biome here. Here Sculk is replaced with Gloomy Sculk and Sculk Stone is replaced with Gloomslate. You'll also find Soul Sand/Soil plus Magma with Lava beneath them. With the temperatures being so Hot, Mobs won't normally spawn here, but there is a few Plant life!
Needs: The Otherside - Gloomy Cacti
Gloomy Cacti are just like normal Cacti, just these spawn within Overcast Columns. I mean they like the Heat, they don't need Water to grow, they hurt to touch, are there even any differences? Oh yeah, these can be Smelted into Orange Dye instead of Green!
Needs: Overcast ColumnsAsks for:Gloomy Cactus
- Gloomy Geyser
Gloomy Geysers are Blocks you can find within Overcast Columns. When you Walk over them they will shoot you high up into the Air! Be careful though, you'll still take Fall Damage. You can pick them up with Silk Touch.
Needs: Overcast Columns - Reinforced Echo Shard
Reinforced Echo Shard is a Crafted Item that requires a few Items. First, and easiest to obtain are Phantom Membrane! Phantoms will spawn after the Player hasn't slept in a few days. The more restless nights, the more Phantoms! Second, is the Echo Shard. These can be found in quite a few ways but easiest is Looting in Ancient Cities. The last is the Warden Carapaces. These are Drops from the Warden on death. Don't worry he usually drops more than one!
Needs: The Otherside, Kill the WardenAsks for:Reinforced Echo Shard
- Stalker
The Stalker is a Boss that can be spawned by breaking Ancient Vases. He has 200 Hearts and a Boss Bar to keep track. We'll need to kill him to get Soul Crystals. He is very fast and does a ton of Damage if he Hits you. Thankfully he is Blind, like the Warden. But he also has an amazing sense of hearing which allows him to hear everything nearby. He has a few attacks, normally he will just Hit you. Sometimes he might cause an AOE attack and can summon Sculk Leeches to attack you! He'll also attack every non-Sculk Mob.
Needs: Ancient Temples - Crystallized Amber
Crystallized Amber spawns within Overcast Columns. You'll need Silk Touch to grab them. They don't do much, but they look pretty!
Needs: Overcast ColumnsAsks for:Crystallized Amber
- Sculk Leech
Sculk Leeches can sometimes spawn from broken Ancient Vases. It acts as a little surprise for you when 2 spawn out! They only have 2 Hearts and will attack you despise that. On death they will drop Soul Dust.
Needs: Ancient Temples - Echoing Forest
The Echoing Forest is a little plain but it also houses the Echoing Trees! The Echoing Trees act like normal Trees, you can Mine their Logs for Crafting and their Leaves will drop Saplings. You can also find Sculk Gleam within the Leaves. Around it you will find Echoing Soil all over the surface. These unfortunately can not be made into Farmland or Dirt, they're just Blocks.
Needs: The Otherside - Echo Trees
Echo Logs are made from Echo Trees which spawn in the Echoing Forest... is there an echo in here, why do I hear it so much? Echo Trees have Purple Leaves and Sculk Gleam within them. While their Logs have a Light Grey Bark and a very Light Green Log color. All the Planks and Wood Items made from it are all the Light Green Color, almost Mint like. The Trapdoors and Doors even have cool unique patterns!
Needs: Echoing ForestAsks for:Echo Log
- Echo Soil
Echo Soil covers the floor of the Echoing Forests. They do not act like normal Grass or Dirt besides allowing Echoing Saplings to grow on them. No normal Saplings.
Needs: Echoing ForestAsks for:Echo Soil
- Sculk Gleam
Sculk Gleam has properties of Shroomlights. They don't need a Tool to collect, but break fastest with a Hoe. They spawn within Echoing Trees and rarely underground.
Needs: Echoing ForestAsks for:Sculk Gleam
- Home, Sweet Home!
To get back to the Overworld, we can leave the same way we came! Use the Heart of the Deep on a Frame of Reinforced Deepslate. Luckily we get one of those within the bottom of the Ancient Temple.
Needs: Ancient Temples - Shattered
Shattered spawn in quite a few Biomes in the Otherside. They act like mini Wardens, being Blind relying on Sculk to find Enemies. They also attack all non-Sculk Mobs. Shattereds have 50 Hearts and pack quite a punch! So careful to not attract too many. If you can kill them, they'll drop Sculk Bones. These will be needed for a few Recipes.
Needs: Deeplands, Echoing Forest - Sculk Centipede
Sculk Centipedes are long neutral Mobs that spawn in the Otherside. They have 10 Hearts and will attack in a group if Hit, like Wolves. They only drop XP and maybe String, so best to leave them be!
Needs: Deeplands, Echoing Forest - Sculk Jaw
Sculk Jaws are Blocks we can find within the Deeplands. When you accidentally walk over them they'll bite you, this drags you down and deals Damage when you are stuck in them. You can take them by using Silk Touch.
Needs: Deeplands - Blooming Caverns
The Blooming Caverns are more like Lush Caves than normal Caves. I say that because of the abundance of PLANTS! You'll find Plants growing from the ceiling to the floor, Plants growing from the floor to the ceiling, Plants growing from the Water, and Plants not even Growing at all! The floor is covered in Blooming Sculk Stone and even Blooming Moss. There's even Water Ponds here, the only place you can find Water in this Dimension.
Needs: The Otherside - Sludge
Sludges spawn in Blooming Caverns and act like Slimes! Their largest form has 8 Hearts and does a ton of Damage. On death they will spawn 2-4 Medium Sludges. Their medium forms have 2 Hearts and do much less Damage. On death they'll spawn 2-4 small Sludges. The small form has only a half a Heart of Health and won't do any Damage.
Needs: Blooming Caverns - Angler Fish
Angler Fish spawn in Water Ponds within Blooming Caverns. They act like normal Fish, obviously needing Water to breathe. They have 3 Hearts and will attack you when you are near. They don't drop anything on death unfortunately... sorry Fishies!
Needs: Blooming Caverns - Blooming Wood
Blooming Stems aren't like Trees, they're more like if Chorus and Bamboo had a baby. They spawn within the Blooming Caverns and need other Blooming Stems to keep up! This is the only way to find them. You can still Strip them or make Planks out of them. The Planks have a Light Blue color to them, and so will whatever you make out of them!
Needs: Blooming CavernsAsks for:Blooming Stem
- Bloom Berries
Bloom Berries grow from Glowing Vines on the roof of the Blooming Caverns. Within the Glowing Vines, Bloom Berries might spawn and will wait for you to pick them off the Vine with Right Click! This is the only Food Source in the Otherside.
Needs: Blooming CavernsAsks for:Bloom Berries
- Ice Lilies
Ice Lilies are Plants that grow on the Water Ponds within the Blooming Caverns (I told you it has a lot of Plants). There's 2 parts to the Plant, the Lily and the Ice Flower. The Lily Pad is what floats on Water and allows you to walk on it. The Ice Flower lies on top of the Lily Pad and looks pretty! You'll need Shears to nab them.
Needs: Blooming CavernsAsks for:Ice Lily
- Blooming Moss
Blooming Moss comes from the... you guessed it! Blooming Caverns! It will spawn on the ground just waiting for you to collect it. They don't spread like normal Moss nor do they have any Recipes.
Needs: Blooming CavernsAsks for:Blooming Moss Block
- Glowing Roots
Glowing Roots spawn in Blooming Caverns. They can't be Climbed and don't drop Food... I think they are just for decor.
Needs: Blooming CavernsAsks for:Glowing Roots
- Sculk Stone
Sculk Stone spawns pretty much everywhere but Overcast Columns. It works like normal Stone, like in every single way. You can smelt Cobbled versions to get Sculk Stone which can then be made into many other Building Blocks. Unfortunately it can't be used to make Stone Tools though... wait what do you care you killed the Warden! Why do you need Stone Tools?!?!?!
Needs: Deeplands, Echoing Forest, Blooming CavernsAsks for:Cobbled Sculk Stone
- Warden Armor
Warden Armor is direct upgrade to Netherite. Just use a Warden Upgrade Template, a Reinforced Echo Shard, and a piece of Netherite Armor to make it. Each piece has 1 more Armor Point and 1 more Armor Protection compared to its Netherite counterpart. No more Knockback Resistance though. They atleast look much cooler than Netherite though! The Helmet has giant horns like the Warden and the Chestplate has a heart spot.
Needs: Warden Upgrade Template, Reinforced Echo ShardAsks for:Warden Boots,
Warden Chestplate,
Warden Helmet,
Warden Leggings
- Gloomslate
Gloomslate replaces Sculk Stone in the Overcast Columns. It works just like Sculk Stone, just more Brown.
Needs: Overcast ColumnsAsks for:Cobbled Gloomslate
- Warden Tools
Not much change from Netherite to Warden for these Tools. The Pickaxe is same Tier and same Speed. Shovels can still make Pathways and again same Speed. Hoes can still make Farmland and also same Speed. Only real change is higher Attack Damage for all of them. Funny enough that means Warden Hoes have higher Damage than all Vanilla Hoes!
Needs: Warden Upgrade Template, Reinforced Echo ShardAsks for:Warden Hoe,
Warden Pickaxe,
Warden Shovel
- Sculk Vines
Sculk Vines are the Sculk version of Weeping Vines. They can spawn within Blooming Caverns and Deeplands.
Needs: Blooming Caverns, DeeplandsAsks for:Sculk Vines
- Sculk Snapper
Sculk Snappers are tiny but angry Mobs! I've seen them spawn in Deeplands and Blooming Caverns. They have 6 Hearts and will drop Soul Dust on Death.
Needs: Deeplands, Blooming Caverns - Sonorous Staff
You ever wish you, yourself can use the Wardens Sonic Blast? Well with the Sonorous Staff you can! Just simply Hold Right Click to charge it up, then release to send a Sonic Blast. There is a slight cooldown to it and it does have Durability, so use with risk! To Craft one you'll need a Heart of the Deep from the Warden, 2 Soul Crystals from the Stalker, and 2 Sculk Bones from Shattereds.
Needs: Stalker, Shattered, Sculk SnapperAsks for:Sonorous Staff
- Soul Elytra
The Soul Elytra works just like a normal Elytra, just now with more Durability and Armor Points! They can't be repaired with Phantom Membranes like normal Elytras... but Enchantments can still repair them! To Craft one you'll need an Elytra, 4 Sculk Bones which drop from Shattered, 2 Soul Dust which drop from Sculk Snappers or Sculk Leeches, and a Soul Crystal which drops from the Stalker.
Needs: Stalker, Shattered, Sculk SnapperAsks for:Soul Elytra
- Shriek Worm
Shriek Worms spawn from stepping on Infested Sculk in Deeplands. They are Mini bosses with 100 Hearts. If you get too close they'll bite you, causing a ton of Damage! But if you go too far they'll retreat back down into the ground. They don't drop anything but a bit of XP, which I don't think is worth the trouble.
Needs: Deeplands - Soundproof Glass
Soundproof Glass is made by combining Soul Dust and Glass. These work at dampening Sound just like Wool! If a Sculk Sensor or Shrieker has one covering them, they won't hear Sounds. Just these you can see through!
Needs: Sculk SnapperAsks for:Soundproof Glass
- Warden Weapons
No, the Warden doesn't use Swords and Axes. But we can! Both the Warden Sword and Axe are upgrades of their Netherite versions with a Reinforced Echo Shard and Warden Upgrade Template. They each have 1 Heart of Damage more and even more Durability! Yes, the Axe can still efficiently chop down Trees.
Needs: Warden Upgrade Template, Reinforced Echo ShardAsks for:Warden Axe,
Warden Sword
- Sculk Transmitter
The Sculk Transmitter is a very rare Item we can find within Chests of the Ancient Temple. Once you do find one, it'll be your Bestfriend! To use it, simply Shift Right Click a Block that has a GUI, think of: Chests, Crafting Tables, and Furnaces. Then, the Transmitter will be bound to that Item. After that, we can use the Transmitter to remotely access that Block from wherever! To unbind the Block, Shift Right Click the Air with the Transmitter.
Needs: Ancient TemplesAsks for:Sculk Transmitter
