Hardened Armadillos in All the Mons

Hardened Armadillos is included in this pack as version 1.21.0-0.1.0 (the file is hardenedarmadillos-1.21.0-0.1.0.jar). It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it isn't a new addition.^[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm what the mod actually adds or changes in the game. There is no in-jar guidebook and no platform page to draw on, so I'm not going to guess at its features, items or mechanics. The same goes for who it's aimed at and where it fits in progression: nothing I have confirms either.

Unverified I found no quests in this pack that involve the mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star path. That is based on what's missing from the available sources rather than on anything the sources state, so check it in-game if it matters to you.

Hardened Armadillos doesn't give you a crafting chain to follow. The one thing it changes is how you get armadillo scutes, so that's where your first steps start.^[2]

With the mod installed, scutes no longer drop from armadillos over time, and you can't brush them off either. The only way to get a scute is to kill the armadillo.^[2]

What to do first

1. Find an armadillo. Waiting around for it to shed a scute won't work in this pack.^[2]
2. Kill the armadillo to get its scute. This is the only source the mod leaves you.^[2]

Hardened Armadillos changes one thing: how you get scutes from armadillos. With the mod installed, armadillos no longer drop scutes periodically, and you cannot brush them off either.^[2]

Scutes only drop when the armadillo is killed. That is the only scute source the mod's own text describes.^[2]

Unverified Anything beyond this scute change, such as machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling and automation, is not described in the available sources, so it is unverified whether the mod adds any of it.
