Cobblemon: Extra Structures is a mod in All the Mons 1.3.0, where it is version 1.21.1-1.3.0. A Cobblemon addon adding more structures and ways to obtain legendary Pokémons. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Cobblemon: Extra Structures?

3 parts

Cobblemon: Extra Structures is an addon for Cobblemon that adds new structures to explore and new ways to find Pokémon, including legendary ones. If you like heading out of your base to hunt for something special instead of just waiting for spawns, this mod is for you.[1]

This pack ships version 1.21.1-1.3.0 of the NeoForge build.[2]

  • Bell Tower[1]
  • Sea Mauville[1]
  • Snowpoint Temple[1]
  • Desert Ruins, Cave Island and Ancient Tomb[1]
  • The Under[1]
  • Sky Pillar[1]

Respawning Pokémon

On NeoForge, Pokémon inside these structures respawn after you catch or knock them out. The respawn timing lives in the config file cobblemonextrastructures-common.toml, which appears in your config folder after the first launch.[1]

By the mod's defaults, structures with unique spawns, like the Bell Tower, respawn after 168,000 ticks, which is 7 Minecraft days. Structures with varied encounters, like the Dragon's den, respawn after 24,000 ticks, which is 1 Minecraft day. Setting the value to -1 turns respawns off.[1]

Unverified These respawn times are the mod's defaults. The sources do not show whether this pack changes them, so check the config file in your own instance.

Where it fits in the pack

Unverified The sources do not show any quests, ATM Star path steps or other progression tied to this mod, so treat it as optional exploration and a source of rare Pokémon encounters.

How do you get started with Cobblemon: Extra Structures?

3 parts

Good news: this mod doesn't ask you to craft anything first. The sources I have show no recipes that produce its items and no quests that involve it, so your first steps here are all about exploring. Cobblemon: Extra Structures is an addon for Cobblemon that adds new structures and new ways to find Pokémon, including legendary ones.[1]

First, go exploring

The mod comes with its own advancements, and each one is a simple "find this place" goal. They work as a checklist, and the top-level advancement just says to explore the world with the mod. If you don't know where to start, tick them off one by one.[3]

The major structures featured on the mod's page are the Bell Tower, Sea Mauville, the Snowpoint Temple, the Desert Ruins, the Cave Island, the Ancient Tomb, The Under and the Sky Pillar.[1]

The advancements also point to these places:[3]

  • Berry House, Burned Tower, Fishing Hut and Outskirt Stand[3]
  • Pokemon Center and Sprout Tower[3]
  • Dragon's Den, Origin Cave and Origin Tomb[3]
  • The tombs of the Golems, which you get credit for by stepping into one[3]
  • Sea Mauville, a shipwreck, and The Under, described as the city of thieves[3]

Know what to expect inside

Pokémon respawn inside these structures after you catch or knock them out, so a place you've cleared isn't gone for good. On NeoForge, the mod creates a config file at config/cobblemonextrastructures-common.toml the first time you launch it, and that file controls how often they respawn.[1]

The mod's own defaults are 168,000 ticks (7 Minecraft days) for structures with unique spawns like the Bell Tower, and 24,000 ticks (1 Minecraft day) for structures with different encounters like the Dragon's Den. Setting the value to -1 disables respawns. Nothing I have shows whether this pack changes these values, so check the file yourself.[1]

Watch out: The mod's author says the new spawner blocks don't work on Fabric. There, Pokémon are generated with the structure only once, with no random IVs, no defined movepool and no chance to be shiny. Respawn settings are listed as NeoForge only.[1]

Tune the structures, if you want

If structures feel too rare or too common, the mod's author explains how to adjust them by editing the mod file's data. Each structure has a structure_set json file where "weight", "spacing" and "separation" control how often it generates. A lower spacing makes the structure more likely, and separation must be lower than spacing. The structure's own json has a "biomes" key that sets where it can spawn. This is an edit to the mod's data, so I can't confirm whether this pack already changes any of it.[1]

How does Cobblemon: Extra Structures work?

4 parts

This mod is a structure and encounter addon for Cobblemon, so its systems are about world generation and Pokémon spawns, not machines or automation. What matters is how structures generate, how the Pokémon inside them respawn, and how the spawner blocks behave on each loader.[1]

Structures and discovery

The mod adds new structures to explore and new ways to find Pokémon, including legendary ones. The project page features the Bell Tower, Sea Mauville, Snowpoint Temple, Desert Ruins, Cave Island, Ancient Tomb, The Under and Sky Pillar as its major structures.[1]

Many structures have an advancement that triggers when you find them. Examples are the Bell Tower, Berry House, Burned Tower, Dragon's den, Origin cave, Origin tomb, Pokemon Center, Sprout Tower and the city of thieves, The Under. The Golems advancement is slightly different: you earn it by stepping into one of the tombs of the Golems. There's also a root advancement about exploring the world with the mod.[3]

Pokémon respawning

On NeoForge, Pokémon respawn inside structures after you catch or knock them out. The first time the mod launches, it creates the config file config/cobblemonextrastructures-common.toml, where you can adjust how often that happens.[1]

  • Structures with unique spawns, like the Bell Tower, default to 168,000 ticks, which is 7 Minecraft days.[1]
  • Structures with different encounters, like the Dragon's den, default to 24,000 ticks, which is 1 Minecraft day.[1]
  • Setting the value to -1 disables respawns.[1]
Watch out: These timers are the mod's defaults as given on its project page. Check the generated file in your own config folder if the timing matters to you.[1]

Fabric limitation

The author couldn't get the new spawner blocks working on Fabric. Pokémon still appear there, but they are generated with the structure only once. They don't get random IVs, a defined movepool or a chance to be shiny.[1]

Adjusting structure frequency

The author allows editing the mod file and sharing it with friends for a server. Inside the jar, each structure has a JSON file in data/cobblemonextrastructures/worldgen/structure_set. These values control how often it generates.[1]

  • "weight" is the chance of the structure spawning among the structures that can spawn in that biome.[1]
  • "spacing" is the average distance in chunks between two generation attempts. Lower values make the structure more likely.[1]
  • "separation" is the minimum distance in chunks between two attempts. It must be lower than "spacing".[1]

To change where a structure can appear, open its file in data/cobblemonextrastructures/worldgen/structure and edit the "biomes" key. You can use a biome id like "minecraft:forest" or a tag like "#cobblemon:is_forest", and the structure will only spawn in the biomes you specify.[1]

Unverified The sources here include no config file for this mod from the pack, so whether the pack changes the respawn timers is not shown. Check config/cobblemonextrastructures-common.toml in your own install. They also show no recipes that produce this mod's items.

How do you progress through Cobblemon: Extra Structures?

2 parts

For this mod, the pack's changes are about which structures can generate in your world, so this section is a map of what you can actually go and find.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

Structures that can generate

Sea Mauville and Sky Pillar keep a working structure set in the pack. Both use random spread placement with a spacing of 300 and a separation of 250, so expect to travel a fair distance between them. Each set holds a single structure with a weight of 1.[8][9]

  • Sea Mauville: the structure set uses spacing 300 and separation 250.[8]
  • Sky Pillar: the structure set uses the same spacing 300 and separation 250.[9]

Structures the pack switches off

The pack overrides the structure sets for the Ancient Tomb, Bell Tower, Desert Ruins, Island Cave and Snowpoint Temple with a condition that is never true, which turns them off. Don't spend time hunting for them, because their structure sets are disabled in this pack.[4][5][6][7][10]

Tip: If you want to explore this mod's structures, point your travels at Sea Mauville and Sky Pillar. They are the only ones whose structure sets are still active in the pack, and with that spacing they are spread widely, so bring a way to cover long distances.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

What changed in Cobblemon: Extra Structures between versions?

3 parts

All the Mons 1.3.0 ships with Cobblemon: Extra Structures 1.21.1-1.3.0, and the mod was already in the pack as of 0.3.0-beta or earlier. The sources here have no pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[2]

1.3.0 (the version in the pack)

  • Pokemon can now respawn in structures.[11]
  • The mod is now compatible with C2ME.[11]
  • New spawner types were added: Pokemon Spawner, Random Pokemon Spawner and Conditional Pokemon Spawner.[11]
  • Spawn frequency was adjusted for all structures, and the structures got a refresh for Cobblemon 1.7.[11]
  • New structures: Origin cave, Origin tomb, Snowpoint Temple, Dragon's Den and Sprout Tower.[11]
  • The Pokemon Center structure was removed.[11]

1.2.1

A small fix release. The Ho-oh model was removed after it caused crashes with the latest Cobblemon version at the time.[12]

1.2.0

  • New structures: Berry House and Fishing hut.[13]
  • German and Mandarin translations were added, along with more advancements.[13]
  • The generation of the Bell Tower was fixed a bit.[13]
  • The odds of finding every structure were decreased by default.[13]
  • Structures were improved so they can generate in modded biomes without odd results, and every structure now generates under a biome tag, which makes them compatible with world generation mods.[13]
Tip: If you remember a Pokemon Center structure from older versions of the mod, it is gone in 1.3.0. The mod's changelog lists it as removed.[11]
